This week I had my six-monthly check up at my dentists, and thankfully, all was well. However, when I went to book my next check-up, which I expected would be in May, I was told the NHS contract now allows for just one check-up per year. If I wanted a check-up in six months I could book one privately for £55, which I duly did.
